The US has been a major player in investment and educational reforms in Africa since the establishment of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) in 1975 and PEACECORPS in 1945. This contribution increased immensely after the single market TRADE was established and the EMEA became operational in 1995. In 2017, USA Foreign Aid Assistance for Africa is planned in the amount of $34 Billion. According to recent data, US imports $19 billion and exports $18 billion worth of goods from Africa. By 2020, the size of the US African market GDP is anticipated to grow to $1 trillion with consumer spending forecast to grow by 40%, in the Continent.
